Thank you for praying.

M&Ms

So, Jacob is a fan of M&Ms, as well as a fan of nose picking. What can I say? He is such a boy. Well, the culmination of the two hobbies came to a head yesterday at lunch, when I was reading the newspaper and Marand was doling out the dessert (M&M's). The next thing I know is Jacob has a scared look on his face and he is telling his dad that the M&M is in his nose.....long story, short, after much crying/melting/milking, the M&M was removed. Silly boy. He was pretty disappointed when Marand threw it away, and he didn't get to eat it. So, I've asked him a few times today if he is supposed to stick things up his nose, and I'm glad for his quick reply "No! M&M's are for eating" That's right baby boy, that's right. A lesson learned. Please don't forget it.

Adoption Update

We are plugging along, reminding ourselves that God is in complete control of all things. We've received word that our FBI check was "lost in the shuffle", Bethany is having to have it snail mailed, so we are on hold until they receive it. This is just one of many "setbacks" this go round. The questions mount....my thoughts race....Thank you God for hearing my concerns and for the strong arms to cast my cares upon. I surrender, your will not mine, your timing, not mine.

In the meantime we continue to tweak our profile - having it ready the second we get the "go". We are a substantial amount short on funds at this juncture. Thank you God that you own all things, and will provide as you see fit. Your money, not Mine - I am your steward, please help me be the best one I can be.

Thank you all for your continued prayers for us, for finances, for the birth Mom and Dad, and for the sweet, sweet little one who will join this family at just the right time!

Family Week Update

It's so nice to have family visit. We've had a ball with Uncle Byron and Aunt Suzy and company visiting. I think Marand may even shed a tear when the 4 boys leave tomorrow, oh the 'man' fun that's been had in this house, into the wee hours of the mornin' ;)

We drove up Mt Evans (14,000+ feet) kinda wet, but super fun. We played at parks while the college track boys "trained" in our thin air, and today we rode bikes from Vail pass to Frisco! Nothing like being dropped off at the top and picked up at the bottom. I'm not sure I even peddled, just braked and enjoyed the view! That's the way to bike in the mountains ;)

Got to love the wildlife - and Taber, our very own wildlife :)

Aunt Suzy and Britt

A furry little Pika

It being a little wet, and quite a bit past nap time - Jacob wasn't very happy to have gotten his hands wet climbing onto the viewing stand :)

I apparently got Uncle Byron's "good side" in this one - And I'm gonna post it because you fed Jacob so much candy and Mountain Dew while you were here ;)

These are the markers at the top of every 14,000ft mountain.

The wildlife again ;)

Aunt Suzy with her oldest baby :)

So the Barrientez brothers decide that it would be fun to rent the electric bike...and Uncle Byron took off from the rental place and trekked down I-70 like he was riding a self-propelled bike or something...

I couldn't believe it, it was a hoot!

He decided he'd join the rest of us, and have a ride to the top....look at all those bikes!

The "bikers" - Miss Shaylee girl is on a trail bike attached to the back of her momma's bike - and completely hidden in all my photos!!! maybe her dad got a better one he can send me :)

Seriously, Super Fun!

We can't wait for dinner on Monday night with our Ft. Collins family - and Grandpa Dave!

Thank you God for your hand of safety upon us, for fun with our family. Thank you that "This world is not my home, I'm just a passin' through- My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue - The angels beckon me, from heaven's open door, and I can't feel at home in this world anymore. "

Love This

I loved this from cousin's wife Jenny's blog:

AS LONG AS YOU ARE GLORIFIED
Words and Music byMark Altrogge

Shall I take from Your hand Your blessings
Yet not welcome any pain
Shall I thank You for days of sunshine
Yet grumble in days of rain
Shall I love You in times of plenty
Then leave You in days of drought
Shall I trust when I reap a harvest
But when winter winds blow, then doubt

Oh let Your will be done in me
In Your love I will abide
Oh I long for nothing else as long
As You are glorified

Are You good only when I prosper
And true only when I’m filled
Are You King only when I’m carefree
And God only when I’m well
You are good when I’m poor and needy
You are true when I’m parched and dry
You still reign in the deepest valley
You’re still God in the darkest night
