Please Pray for Pastor Bruce

Hi Everyone,

This is an update on Bruce's condition...I tried to be blogger on his blog, but I couldn't figure it out.  So, I thought this would be the next best way to get info to everyone.
I will have Bruce show me tomorrow, so that I can  be "with it" like he is!

As many of you know Bruce was not feeling well at all this past week-end. He had a fever, chills, fatigue and he pretty much slept most of the time.
It escalated by Tuesday and when he went in to his the radiologist on Tues. morn, she took one look at him and said, "you are so jaundiced, Bruce.  I am going to get a blood test to see where your bilirubin numbers are."
I think I was used to his "suntan look"..that I didn't notice the change in his color.
Well, the numbers were so bad that she had a CT scan scheduled and also was going to have an ERCP done right away.
An ERCP is something that Bruce has had before..where they go in through his throat and try to open up his bile ducts either thru ballooning or stenting.
They couldn't do the procedure  yesterday because he had eaten before he went to see the radiologist and this procedure requires anesthesia, so they did it this morning at 6:30.
After the ERCP was finished, the doctor came and talked to us...he said that the bile duct wasn't as closed as the last time they opened it up.
But, they did balloon it( they couldn't get a stent in) so hopefully he will feel much better tomorrow.
The doctor said that the jaundice most likely is a symptom of the liver failing and cirrhosing.
This sounded to me like they believe the liver is going south.

Anyway, things have worsened throughout the day as far as fever, chills, and his jaundice.
We went back today at 3:00 to have his radiation procedure..they took his vitals and temperature..his temp was about 103.. His bilirubin numbers went from 3.3 to 13.4.
His color is pretty much orange/yellow, now
They decided at this point to admit him to the hospital.  So this is where he will be spending the night.

We are asking prayers for wisdom for the doctors and that this might be a time for all to see that a transplant might be necessary.
Please pray that they would find out why his bilirubin numbers are so elevated and why he has fever and chills.
We are trusting and know that God is in control..we thank Him for the care that we receive from all of you and our medical care givers.
Thanks to all of you..we love you and appreciate all that you are doing for us,
I will keep you updated.
Love to all,
Donna

Hooray for Peaches!

We are deep into freezing a box of yummy, ripe peaches! Hooray for smoothies and peach pie this winter! Jacob was a big help :)

O.K. so you say there is a seed inside here...You want me to get it out?

There it is!

This is hard! Peaches are squishy!

Your turn - It's stuck. (love this photo!)

This was a torture to have to look up for the camera - He was on to the next peach! Good thing peaches still taste good even if they're not pretty :)

We had a ball. Peach cobbler for Mom's group tomorrow!

Thank you Jesus for peaches!

Monday Comes and Goes

Jacob, make a funny face! This is what I get :)

He's been loving his book on CD recently. Blue's Clues is loosing it's luster. He's doing great with his talking, and learning. Still working on the pottying consistancy. He reminds me that we need to read the Bible after breakfast because "it's important", and I remind him we need to say our Bible verses because it's God's Word in our hearts. We just keep walking. Monday to Monday :)

We are so blessed.

I'm thanking God today that He is in charge. I know I try His patience like a two year old at times. I argue, I whine, I complain, yet He loves me tenderly, and gently helps me to see that there is a better way to be. I choose. I choose to agree. I choose to talk nicely. I choose to be thankful. The battle starts early in the day, the demand for my heart, soul, mind, and strength, the day ends with a recounting, a searching. Can I do better tomorrow? I will choose, and do my best to help teach others to choose as well.

Thanks for Praying
