Pastor Bruce

An update on Pastor Miles:
It has been determined that Pastor Miles has a sepsis blood infection due to the bile duct disease.  This infection could recur until he gets the liver transplant.  There is a possibility he can go home tomorrow.  He has to be fever free for 24 hours to be released. He is stronger today than yesterday.   Donor 3 will have final stages of testing today and tomorrow.  Pray for that process that this will be a match.  If the donor passes all tests today and tomorrow, the group meeting on July 8, 2010 will be most important.  Pray for the donor and the process.  Pray for Bruce to be able to have complete uninterrupted rest for a couple of days.  Pray for Donna as she cares for him.

Adoption Update

Well, I sent in what I hope is the last piece of paperwork and another check to Bethany Christian Services today. Last we talked with Amy, our birth counselor, she stated that the background checks were still pending, but that she expected them any time. This adoption is looking to be a bit different with Bethany wanting us paid in full at each step, we were able to pay as we could with the last one...we'll see how that works out. God's money not mine.

Thinking back, it was about this length of time with our first adoption, we started this one in January...so we are only 6 months into it. It took 8 months till we were showing our "profile" with Jacob's adoption. So Lord willing in the next few months we should be there.

Thanks so much for all your prayers, I know that the birth families also appreciate them, what a blessed thing to be able to do. To pray for those we don't know, like they are family.

Dad promises that Jacob thought of this on his own..."Underware on head" says Jacob :)

Silly Dad. Thanks tons for the "fun" Momma Sarah!

Hooray for setting up Jacob's "big boy bed" yesterday. He loves it. The glow in the dark stars on the wall and ceiling helped tons...thanks Nanna and Papa!

Spelling

Thanks Aunt Suzy for noticing Marand's spelling error in the heading ;) I even asked him if it had two 'mm's' or not! As most of you know and can readily attest too, I do not have the gift of spelling. I often make spelling errors even using spell check, and often on the word coming (as my sister can attest to)! ....so it has been kind of nice to have Marand be the errant one this time :)

We've had a busy week with the Thrift store Tues-Friday, dinners Thursday-Saturday, and life crammed in between, but it has been fun. We even squeezed in a free tumbling class at the recreation center (hooray for 'parents as teachers program'). Jacob did pretty well. He doesn't seem to be much for the athletic side of things....but he has been working pretty diligently since then, to be able to "hop like a kangaroo" :) Some of the others in his class were great at it, so he's motivated to get that down. As for the rest of it...it seemed like he could take it or leave it. but we had fun none the less. I think if we are going to pay for a class, we'll stick to swimming for him.

He did make it a point to go across the room on his own and sit beside the little girl that was having a rough time (lots of crying and temper-tantrum-ing). It was the sweetest thing, towards the end of class when she and her mom were sitting off to the side, he just strolled over and sat, as if to say, "it's all-right, hang in there...this athletic stuff isn't really my cup of tea either." ;) Sweet Little Man.

Would you please pray for our church as we are interviewing an associate pastor candidate....Seems like a great fit, but we are sure praying hard for confirmation for all involved.

Father God please mold us to be the people you'd have us to be, with strengths and weaknesses, may we honor and glorify You with our lives.

More Birthday!

We had a great day pet-sitting, working the ladies Bible study at church (Monica baby sitting, me meeting with pastor about music), working my personal assisting job and then manning the thrift store.

Thank you God for the amazing way your word is living and active. It daily gives me glimpses into who you are and who you want me to be. Reading through the making of "Solomon's Temple" so impressed me as to the craftsmanship and detail that God designed to go into it. God delights in beautiful work. Thank you Jesus for allowing me to work, may it be beautiful craftsmanship for you!

Not too many years of your life you can get away with wearing

a news paper hat 24/7 :)

Hooray for the tunnel/tent from Papa and Nana,

I'm not sure if Jacob or Marand likes it more ;)
