Sheltered Family

Well, my Virginia family was detained due to weather. What a bummer to spend the time they were supposed to spend with us, in a shelter in West Virginia (1.5 hours from their house;). But boy, are we so thankful they were safe and warm. Sooooo they were allowed to trek out again about 9:00 this morning, but will skip our house and head straight to Momma's in LaJunta. Jacob, Monica and I will head down Monday morning and meet them there for the rest of our time together. Hooray for a long vacation time...even with having to miss part of it :) Our God is so good to have our best in mind at all times...he sees the big picture.

Thanks Aunt Tina for Marand's new lego set. He and Jacob had a great time putting it together today.

Ooooooo look mom, we did it!

Christmas With Fire!

What a blessing to celebrate Christmas! Hooray for simply yummy "sloppy Joe's" on homemade rolls, with bananas foster for dessert :) Marand is pretty good at setting things on fire.

Last we heard from Becky and Company was that they were at a dead stand-still on the interstate in West Virginia due to snowy weather....They had made it off early, but were now delayed. Would you pray for them this night as they drive. Hooray, my sister is coming to see me! They should be here sometime tomorrow (Saturday) night, then it's off to LaJunta Monday after the Christmas Cantata at church on Sunday night. I'll most likely post a few times while there, but not much....I'll be too busy doing puzzles, playing games, baking, eating, getting my hair cut, opening presents, laughing, looking through bags and bags of thrift store stuff, did I mention eating?? Hooray for Christmas! Our God is so good to allow us time with loved ones. May your Christmas' be filled with Jesus, and overflowing with thankfulness!

Snow and "My Little Helper"

What fun to have a dumping of snow and then sunny, blue, beautiful days! I was born for Colorado.

Monica got the "super trooper" award (and some p.e. credit for school) for doing the first of THREE shovels of the driveway :) Marand did the second and I was blessed to be able to do the final, the next day...in the daylight :)

Jacob likes snow, and shovels!

and this is what my silverware drawer lookes like before "my little helper" unloads the dishwasher basket...

this is after :)

Praise God from whom all blessing flow!

I'm so looking forward to my Virginia family coming into town on Sat p.m. and maybe my Mom and Don...then it's off to LaJunta for some serious family time!

Merry Christmas Everybody! I mailed photos out....let me know if you don't get yours and you want one :)

House Photos and a CELEBRATION!

The snow is really falling good up here now....3-4" so far, more to come!! It's truly beginning to look a lot like Christmas. WE LOVE IT! If it's got to be cold, let there be SNOW!

This is looking towards the front door and out onto Marmot St.

this is looking out to the back yard/deck area, this is the chair I got from beside a dumpster in Frisco!

This is the kitchen! We had a wonderful dinner with friends on Friday night. We christened the place right :)

and joked along the way, that we need to do that as much as possible, just in case our condo doesn't sell, and we have to move back! :)

We are truly enjoying the amazing blessings we've been given, and would be o.k. if it were all taken from us, Jesus is life, stuff is just stuff.

Deuteronomy 30:19b-20a

...I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live...

...by loving the LORD your God, by obeying His voice, and by holding fast to Him; for this is your life and the length of your days...

And on a SUPER HAPPY side note....Jacob is doing a fantastic job of using the potty! He's gone 4 times now! I've just been taking him when I check him and he's dry. He's doing a great job of noting when he's going or has just gone (even to the nursery worker this morning:) So I've got to take this opportunity and sing the praises of cloth diapers....they have their downfalls, but I'm loving their "wet feel factor" about now!!

Sorry to gross anybody out.....I had to take a photo...this is a true Celebration time for Momma!
