Thursday - How can it be July 1st?
We had a great mom's group here today. What a gift to fellowship with sisters in Christ! Thank you God for the backyard full of free, or gifted to us, toys! We are getting good use out of them. The sandbox got the prize today I think :)Thank you God for a noon pet sit. It looks like my personal assisting job is done, about as soon as it started...my time is worth too much ;) Thank you Jesus for your leading in my life, for peace in each step.
I've been reading about the prophet Elijah in I Kings and I love the reminder that
"he went and did according to the word of the LORD....ravens brought him bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook."
God is so good and he leads us while providing in miraculous ways!
"And it happened after a while that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain."
Now what God? God's examples in Scripture rarely show us God providing in abundance when we already have abundance. Elijah waited on the LORD's voice, God didn't direct him elsewhere until the brook was completely dried up. Can't you imagine what Elijah was thinking? I know what I'd be thinking! But the word of the Lord's provision came to him at just the right time. Not too soon, and not a moment too late.
"Then the word of the LORD came to him, saying, 'Arise go to Zarephath....and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you.' So he arose and went....."
Elijah waited. He trusted even when he couldn't see. Thank you God for letting the brook dry up, so I'll wait on you, so I'll trust you more.
and thank you God for Lego magazines in the mail.

Thank you for the nice thoughts... so true. Cute pictures! Tell Marand to pick up his dishes and only one glass per day, that's why the dishwasher is full of cups!!! Ha ha!! Baby Carly is here this weekend, well, her grandma and cousin Taegan too. I'll take some pictures and send!!! Sweet baby! Thanks for the pictures, love it! Happy 4th!!
but Aunt Suzy, after a few hours they have "amebas" in them!! ;) You can't see the cereal bowl and spoon from this angle, but they are there too. Hooray for baby Carly! Give her a sweet kiss from me. Can't wait to see you! Who will you bring with you?
Sweet pictures. Thank you! It is so true that God does not give us more than we need, but just what we need - for that day. :) Love and hugs - Birth Grandma
I just finished reading about Elijah! How cool to be in the same place in the Bible! We get Lego magazines, also, but Zach doesn't read them with Kerwyn. I miss the days of reading together.
Love this! We are 'savoring' every moment...knowing it may not last forever :)
